Oshun’s Necklace

Oshun is the mermaid, river goddess from the Yoruba religion, and she is associated with fresh water, love, beauty, fertility and wealth. It is her energy that I infused into this necklace while making it. Apatite crystals weave over the seashell, and between each of the freshwater pearls.

Apatite bridges the gap between thought and action, helping you bring your ideas, dreams, and insights into tangible form. The name Apatite comes from the Greek word “apate,” meaning “to deceive,” because it’s often mistaken for other minerals. Ironically, metaphysically, Apatite does the opposite—it helps you see truth clearly, especially your own inner truth. It works with the throat and third eye chakra to bring forth healing energy to its wearer.

The necklace measures 37 centimeters and all the findings, including the paperclip chain are gold-plated. All apatite beads are AAA+ quality. The shell was found on a beach in Zanzibar.
